Baltimore soccer fans will have a chance to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup on the city’s waterfront Wednesday night as Pier Six…

Baltimore soccer fans will have a chance to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup on the city’s waterfront Wednesday night as Pier Six Pavilion hosts a free watch party for Team USA’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event will take place Wednesday, July 1, at Pier Six Pavilion, located at 731 Eastern Ave. Gates open at 6 p.m., with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the waterfront atmosphere, live music from a DJ, food, beverages and cocktails before watching the match on a giant LED screen.

This year’s FIFA World Cup carries added significance for American fans, as the United States is serving as one of the tournament’s co-host nations alongside Canada and Mexico. The international spotlight on North America has created new opportunities for cities across the country to celebrate soccer’s growing popularity while bringing communities together around one of the world’s most-watched sporting events.

In Baltimore, organizers say the Pier Six watch party is about more than the match. The free event is designed to create a welcoming public celebration that highlights the city’s waterfront, supports downtown activity and brings residents and visitors together through sports, music and culture.

“Baltimore’s strength has always been its people and the experiences that bring us together,” said Linzy Jackson III, MCRP, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. “Events like this World Cup Watch Party activate our waterfront, celebrate the diversity of our city, and create opportunities for residents and visitors alike to connect through the universal language of sport. We’re proud to support experiences that showcase Baltimore as a vibrant destination for arts, culture, entertainment and community.”

The event is being presented through a partnership among Pier Six Pavilion, the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment, the Baltimore Development Corporation and community partners. Together, the organizations are working to create public experiences that strengthen Baltimore’s downtown and waterfront while showcasing the city as a destination for entertainment and community gatherings.

“Events like the World Cup Watch Party demonstrate the power of partnerships in activating our waterfront, supporting local businesses and creating experiences that strengthen Baltimore’s economy,” said Kevin Seawright, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Baltimore Development Corporation. “Bringing residents and visitors together in vibrant public spaces is part of building a more connected, welcoming and economically competitive city. We’re excited to support an event that showcases Baltimore on an international stage while celebrating the diversity and energy of our community.”

Pier Six Pavilion, one of Baltimore’s premier waterfront entertainment venues, has become a key location for concerts, cultural events and community celebrations. Operated by The Finn Group in partnership with Knitting Factory Entertainment, the reimagined venue continues to expand its programming as part of broader efforts to activate the Inner Harbor and downtown Baltimore throughout the year.

Wednesday’s watch party offers fans a chance to cheer on Team USA in a festive waterfront setting as the nation embraces its role as a World Cup co-host. Admission is free and open to the public.
