Empowerment Through Action: Greater Baltimore NCNW to Host Community Resource Fair
The National Council of Negro Women is bringing critical health, wellness, legal, and community resources directly to Baltimore residents through its upcoming Empowerment Resource Fair, an event designed to connect individuals and families with services that promote healing, stability, and opportunity.
Set to serve as a one-stop hub for support and community engagement, the fair will offer free HIV testing, cholesterol screenings, mental health resources, record expungement guidance, educational support, family services, advocacy organizations, and wellness information—all in an effort to address the real needs facing Baltimore communities today.
Organizers say the event is about more than information—it’s about creating access.
“Our mission is rooted in service and advocacy,” said Awanya Anglin-Brodie, President of the Greater Baltimore Section of NCNW. “This Empowerment Fair is about giving our community access to life-changing resources, critical health information, mental wellness support, and opportunities for second chances. We want people to leave feeling informed, supported, empowered, and reminded that their lives, health, and futures matter.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in giveaways and community engagement activities throughout the day. In addition, the organization plans to award $100 cash giveaways every hour to participating attendees, adding another layer of excitement and support for community members.
The fair reflects the organization’s continued commitment to advocacy, outreach, education, and empowerment, particularly in underserved communities where access to resources can often be limited. By bringing together health providers, advocacy groups, support organizations, and educational partners under one roof, the event aims to foster healing, restoration, and long-term community impact.
Community members attending the event can:
- Receive free HIV testing and cholesterol screenings
- Access mental health and wellness resources
- Obtain guidance regarding record expungement
- Connect with advocacy organizations and community groups
- Explore educational, career, and family support services
- Participate in giveaways and engagement activities
- Enter to win $100 every hour throughout the event

Founded on the legacy of service and leadership established by the national organization, the Greater Baltimore Section of NCNW continues to focus on empowering women, families, and communities through advocacy, education, leadership development, and civic engagement.
