Enjoy July’s Shows and Festivals

Hello everyone, I hope you are as excited as I am about this weather, shows, concerts, festivals and a lot of outdoor events every day of the week from now through September. I will try to help you with a few of them.

“Cherokee” & Pressure Point Band will be performing at the Avenue Bakery on Pennsylvania & Baker Street in the Courtyard, presented by Rosa Pryor on Saturday, July 11, from 4-7 p.m. Bring your folding chairs, BYOB, food, desserts, rolls and beverages on sale. No cover.

First, I want to give you some sad news about a few of our friends and loved ones who recently passed away. Our friend Leonard “Lenny” Miles’ viewing is Friday, July 17 at Estep Funeral Home, 1300 Eutaw Place, from 2-6 p.m. Viewing and Homegoing Services are Saturday, July 18 at Israel Baptist Church, 2000 Preston Street in Baltimore. The wake is at 10:30 a.m. and services are at 11 a.m.

Leonard “Lenny” Miles passed away.

Another dear friend of mine, Stan Saunders, a former WJZ-TV reporter and sports anchor passed away on Friday, June 26. Funeral arrangements had not been made at press time. My prayers are with both families.

My official citation when I was inducted into the “Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame.” Thanks to all who were responsible for me receiving such a prestigious recognition. Special thanks to my family, friends and fans who were there to support me. I am truly blessed to receive my flowers while I can still smell them.
