Former NFL Player and Human Services Executive Ronald L. George Named Next President and CEO of NCIA

Ronald L. George, a respected human services executive with more than two decades of leadership experience, has been named the next President and CEO of NCIA. George will officially assume the role on July 1.

George most recently served as Executive Vice President of Development and Chief Administrative Officer at Community Residences, Inc. (CRi), a $65 million multi-state organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, at-risk youth, and individuals participating in diversion and permanent supportive housing programs.

During his 14-year tenure at CRi, George helped guide the organization through significant growth, expanding operations from $25 million to $65 million while strengthening financial sustainability, operational systems, and regulatory compliance. His leadership extended across multiple departments including finance, human resources, information technology, property and asset management, communications, fundraising, marketing, and business development.

George’s connection to the work is deeply personal. Growing up alongside loved ones with intellectual disabilities shaped his belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, opportunity, and a voice. Those values have remained central throughout his professional journey and continue to inform his leadership approach.

Colleagues and community partners describe George as a collaborative and mission-driven leader known for his approachable communication style and commitment to building strong organizational culture.

Before transitioning into human services leadership, George served as Chief Operating Officer of the NFL Alumni Association, where he helped oversee organizational restructuring, sponsorship development, nonprofit operations, and national partnerships.

George also brings firsthand experience from the world of athletics. He played football at Stanford University before continuing his career professionally in the National Football League. He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in economics.

As he prepares to lead NCIA into its next chapter, George brings a unique combination of executive leadership, nonprofit management expertise, and personal passion for serving vulnerable communities.

His appointment marks a significant milestone for the organization as it continues its mission of supporting individuals and families through comprehensive human services and community-based programs.
