Baltimore, MD – June 14, 2025 — The beautiful game just got a bold new voice. Morgan State University’s School of Global Journalism and Communication has launched Goalkeepers, a dynamic new weekly podcast and video series covering global soccer with a distinctly cultural and analytical lens.

Produced by students from Morgan’s Black SoccerLab, Goalkeepers will air every Friday from June 14 through July 13, 2025, delivering in-depth coverage of the global game, including the much-anticipated FIFA Club World Cup 2025, set to take place across 12 U.S. host cities, and the U.S. Men's National Team’s campaign in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Hosted by rising journalism stars Brandon Henry (junior) and Peytn-Omaree Smith (sophomore), the show weaves together hard news, tactical analysis, immersive storytelling, and real fan engagement. Whether you're a die-hard follower of formations and press lines, or a casual fan drawn by the personalities and passion of the sport, Goalkeepers has something for everyone.

“This isn’t just a soccer show. It’s a cultural platform,” said Edward G. Robinson III, Director of the Center for the Study of Race & Culture in Sports at Morgan State. “We’re giving voice to Black perspectives on the global game and expanding how American soccer is covered.”
