The Arc Baltimore Presents President’s Cup to Tyler Duckett-Oliver Award Recognizes Exemplary Service to The Arc

Tyler Duckett-Oliver, a Labor & Employment Attorney at Miles & Stockbridge, is the recipient of The Arc Baltimore’s prestigious President’s Cup.

Presented during The Arc’s recent Catalyst for Change Awards Ceremony, the President’s Cup is presented to that Board member who has distinguished himself or herself by providing exemplary service to the organization. The recipient is selected at the sole discretion of the President of The Arc Baltimore’s Board of Directors.

“Tyler Duckett-Oliver joined The Arc Baltimore Board of Directors in 2024 and quickly distinguished herself as an engaged, thoughtful, and highly effective member,” says Kathleen McNally Durkin, The Arc Baltimore’s Chief Executive Officer. “She immediately committed to understanding the organization’s mission and governance structure, becoming a valued contributor from the start.”

Within three months of joining the Board, Duckett-Oliver was appointed to the Governance Committee, where her expertise in regulatory compliance and risk awareness as an attorney at Miles & Stockbridge strengthened decision-making. “She consistently elevates discussions by asking insightful questions that ensure key considerations, including potential legal and operational risks, are fully explored,” notes Durkin.

Duckett-Oliver also serves on the Board’s Finance, Audit, and Compliance Committee, bringing a strong analytical lens and thoughtful inquiry. While not a formal member of the Quality Enhancement Committee, she reviews all reports and actively follows progress, demonstrating diligence beyond expectations.

Professionally, Duckett-Oliver counsels employers of various sizes and industries, helping them navigate complex and evolving employment and labor laws and regulations. She defends clients in employment discrimination, wage and hour, and traditional labor matters, and assists in all aspects of employment compliance. She has also conducted numerous complex internal investigations in the private sector and in higher education involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

Duckett-Oliver has extensive experience advising and representing colleges, universities, and independent schools throughout the DMV region. She has defended higher education institutions and private K–12 schools in a range of disputes involving faculty employment and student discipline issues. She also acts as a subject matter expert supporting Miles & Stockbridge’s Corporate, Securities and Tax Practice Group on various M&A transactions.

Through its Catalyst for Change Awards program, The Arc Baltimore recognizes those individuals who have gone that extra mile in their commitment and service to the organization and those people with developmental disabilities who are recipients of The Arc’s programs and services.

The awards ceremony was preceded by The Arc Baltimore’s Annual Meeting, which included election of Board officers and directors.
