The Working Mom Conference Brings Community to Baltimore

For many working mothers, balancing career ambitions, entrepreneurship, and family responsibilities can often feel like a full-time juggling act. The Working Mom Conference was created to remind women they don't have to navigate that journey alone.

Taking place on August 8 at Boordy Vineyards, this year's conference embraces the theme "Power Moves Only", inviting mothers to step confidently into their next season with community, purpose, and actionable strategies.

Founded by veteran, entrepreneur, and working mom Christa Bright, the conference was inspired by her own experience relocating to Maryland without a support system. While building a career and raising her son, Bright quickly realized that many mothers were searching for more than networking—they were searching for a village.

"I wanted to create a space where women could walk into a room and immediately feel seen, supported, and reminded that their dreams still matter," Bright said.

Unlike traditional conferences, The Working Mom Conference is intentionally designed around the realities of motherhood. Sessions are scheduled with working moms in mind, and attendees leave with more than inspiration—they leave with connections and a plan.

"I've been to plenty of conferences where you leave motivated, but without a roadmap," Bright shared during a recent interview. "This year, I challenged every speaker to help attendees identify a power move they can begin immediately."

That emphasis on practical action is reflected throughout the day's programming, which includes keynote speakers, networking opportunities, interactive conversations, and the popular Mompreneur Marketplace, showcasing women-owned businesses from across the region.

Bright also hopes the conference sparks conversations about challenges many working mothers silently carry, including workplace culture, career advancement after maternity leave, and the mental load of balancing professional and personal responsibilities.

"We often have to work a little harder simply because we're mothers," she said. "Finding workplaces and communities that truly support working moms matters."

While attendees can expect professional development, they will also experience intentional moments of celebration and self-care, including a scenic vineyard setting, wine tasting, giveaways, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships with other women navigating similar journeys.

Above all, Bright wants every attendee to leave knowing they are exactly where they need to be.

"If you feel like you're falling behind, you're not," she said. "Stop comparing your journey to someone else's. Focus on your next step, build your community, and make your next power move."

The Working Mom Conference takes place Saturday, August 8, at Boordy Vineyards in Baltimore. Tickets and additional information are available at www.thewmconference.com.
