This summer, Aviana invites listeners and viewers on a mystical, multi-sensory exploration with her highly anticipated project, Love Spells, a three-part short film and music EP that intertwines themes of ancestral healing, spiritual rebirth, and romantic liberation.

Two years in the making, Love Spells is more than a musical experience; it’s a deep, emotional narrative about past-life romance, karmic cycles, and the ultimate return to self-love. Blending soul, rock, reggae, and Afrobeat influences, the project is a celebration of Black love and spirituality like no other.

The Love Spells trilogy will launch across three key dates, ensuring fans are immersed in a world of profound visuals and soundscapes throughout the summer:

The first video, Through His Eyes, debuts on July 4 and sets the stage. Soul, reggae, and Afrobeat influences accompany a visual narrative that captures the powerful connection between two lovers recognizing each other from a past lifetime, sparked by just a single glance. The song and video promise viewers a mystical beginning to this trilogy.

Celebrate with Aviana

To celebrate this artistic milestone, Aviana will host an exclusive screening and artist talk at the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis on Sunday, July 13, from 3–5 PM. Attendees will enjoy a full screening of the trilogy’s first video, a candid Q&A session with cast and crew, and an intimate live performance by Aviana herself.

This event offers a rare opportunity to connect with the creative vision behind Love Spells and gain deeper insight into the stories and spiritual themes guiding the project.

A Vision Rooted in Spirituality and Healing

“Love Spells was born out of the desire to reimagine Black love with a lens of joy, intention, and expansiveness,” Aviana says. “There is so much pain and pessimism in how Black romance is portrayed in entertainment. I wanted to create something that celebrates it with more depth and positivity.”

Each song and video in the trilogy reveals a fresh chapter in a mystical story about breaking patterns, reclaiming purpose, and manifesting a true life partner through the practice of self-love. The project itself is a labor of love, made possible by a $7,500 grant from the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, community fundraising, and partnerships with organizations like The Mildred Cursh Foundation, raising a total of $15,000 for its creation.

Crucially, the trilogy bridges the Black diasporic experience through its filming locations in Malibu, Venice, and Accra. Aviana beautifully merges indigenous spiritual themes with universal poetry, creating a powerful intersection between culture, identity, and romance.

Healing Through Music

Aviana’s work has always centered on the unique interplay of music and healing, which shines brightly in Love Spells. Her unmistakable blend of soul, rock, and spiritual resonance has positioned her as a leader in spiritual alternative rock. While her EP PROPHECY established this direction, her recent single “Dark Creation” (co-written with Michael Vest) takes it further with Ethio-jazz and psychedelic rock elements.

“Through each track, I wanted to explore the idea of recognizing lovers from previous lifetimes,” Aviana tells us. “But the key is understanding that many of these connections are lessons. They’re patterns and cycles we’re meant to break rather than repeat. Ultimately, this project is about returning to yourself and aligning with the right partner from that space of self-love.”
