Mission & Vision

The SGJC prepares the next generation of media leaders to shape public discourse through equity-driven storytelling, strategic communication, and global engagement. Inspired by Freedom’s Journal—“We wish to plead our own cause. Too long have others spoken for us”—SGJC centers underrepresented voices and builds infrastructure for lasting impact.

Academic Excellence

SGJC offers a liberal arts foundation with professional training across three departments:

  • Multimedia Journalism – Reporting, writing, and digital storytelling
  • Strategic Communication – Public relations, advocacy, and brand messaging
  • Media Production – Broadcast, film, and digital content creation

Students graduate equipped to lead in media, policy, and entrepreneurship.

Digital Media Center

A state-of-the-art facility supporting student-led content creation across video, audio, and digital platforms. It includes professional studios for broadcast journalism, podcasting, and multimedia production—empowering students to own their narratives.
